Manuscript accepted at JCI!
Our manuscript “The protein deacetylase SIRT2 exerts metabolic control over adaptive β cell proliferation” has been accepted by The Journal of Clinical Investigation! This work identified SIRT2 as a conserved regulator of adaptive beta cell proliferation that acts through a unique mechanism: regulation of glycolytic and TCA enzymes. Huge shoutout to PRA Sean Lee for developing high-resolution confocal microscopy in the new lab to help us get this across the finish line, with assists from our new collaborators Victor Ruthig and Kristen Wells-Wrasman.
Diabetes Day!
Don’t miss the CU DRC Diabetes Day at Shore Family Forum on March 21st! Matt will give a talk about de novo lipogenesis in the beta cell.
HIRN Meeting
It all begins with an idea.
The lab is attending the HIRN Annual Meeting in DC on Jan 13-14th. Matt will be participating in Tuesday’s Breakout Session “Transition: Graduate student & postdoc to the next stage - including positions in Pharma, Industry and non-profits”.
